Can I Earn Money From Instagram Views?
Your Reels get views, and nothing else comes of them. You want to know whether those views can earn you money.
There is one case where Instagram says views can count, and it comes with conditions. Outside that case, it depends on what someone can do after watching. By the end of this page, you will know that case and its conditions, how to check whether it concerns you, and what to do if it does not.

The case where views can count on Instagram: bonus programs
Here is what Instagram's help pages said in October 2026. Its bonus programs reward creators according to the performance of their content. They are tests, offered by invitation only, for a limited time, in the countries where Instagram runs them.
They come with rules. The content has to stay public, branded content is not eligible, and Instagram can refuse to reward behaviour that is not authentic, such as fraudulent or artificially boosted views.
What the pages we read do not say is how that performance is calculated.
How to know whether the bonus case concerns you
Bonuses are only for business and creator accounts. Instagram's help page asks you to check your professional dashboard to see whether you have been invited to test a bonus program.
If there is no invitation there, the bonuses are not open to you for now.
If bonuses are not open to you: what can someone do after watching?
A viewer can send a gift on a Reel. Gifts are only available to some creators at the moment, from 500 followers, in the countries on Instagram's list.
A viewer can also click a link. On Instagram, that link goes in the bio, as we set out in can I do affiliate marketing with just an Instagram account.
A platform can also share part of what it earns around the videos it shows. That is one of the four sources we set out in making money by posting videos from your phone.

That is how we do it, not a rule of Instagram's.
