Can I Do Affiliate Marketing Without a Website?

You know what an affiliate link is. Then you open a program's sign-up form, and one of the first fields asks for your website. You do not have one.

Yes, you can start without one. By the end of this guide, you will know where your link goes, what to read in a program's terms before you sign up, and which question a website was answering that you still have to answer.

We do guided affiliation. We make the videos, captions included, and people post them from their phones. Other ways of doing this exist, and they are not wrong for being different.

What a website does for an affiliate

A website does three things for someone doing affiliate marketing.

  1. It holds your links.
  2. It can be what a program asks to see when you sign up.
  3. It brings people in, through search.

Without a website, the first two can happen somewhere else. The third is the one that stays to be solved.

Where your affiliate link goes without a website

Your link goes where you post: on the profile of the account you post from, under a video, in a message.

What matters is not the place. It is that the link is yours, and that the clicks on it are counted. That is how a click is tied back to you.

Does an affiliate program accept you without a website?

It depends on the program, and the answer is written in its terms.

Amazon's agreement for its affiliates, updated in October 2025, lists content posted on social media next to websites among what an affiliate can use.

Awin, an affiliate network, wrote in a 2020 guide that some advertisers list a website as a requirement for their program, and that this is to be looked for in their terms before signing up.

So the answer is with the program, in writing. Read it before you fill in the form.

Bringing people in: what a website does that does not move

A website brings people in through search. Without one, the people who click have to come from somewhere else.

That is the question of followers, and there are four ways to answer it in affiliate marketing without followers.

Where the link and the posting sit in guided affiliation

In guided affiliation, we create an account with you, step by step, and set up the profile, the bio and your own tracked link. Your link sits on that profile, and we count the clicks on it.

You post on the account we set up with you, so you do not need followers of your own.

The posting has to stay regular. It is the one part we cannot take off your hands.

The model is explained step by step in our guide to guided affiliation.

Before you sign up to an affiliate program without a website

Two things to read in the program's terms, and one question to ask yourself.

Read in the terms:

  • Do the terms ask for a website?
  • Which places do the terms name for your link?

Ask yourself:

  • Where will the people who click come from?
